Stop feeling guilty for what you haven’t done.

For professional procrastinators, there’s no better time than summer to keep putting off important tasks. Great weather combined with nonstop, exciting outdoor events make it next to impossible to focus on that boring To Do List of yours.

But, when not completing your tasks is costing you money,  the pain is double.

But there’s a solution.

I am offering to take those boring tasks on. Because, let’s face it, if you haven’t gotten it done by now, chances are you won’t anytime soon!

As Einstein said, “the definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over again and expecting a different result.”

Make this the last summer you feel bad about not doing what you promised to do. Help is closer than you think, but you have to take the first step.

YES, DAVID I NEED YOUR HELP!

To your continued prosperity.

Taxed Out

Hi Everyone,

I am not sure if I have told you yet, but it is my intention to share more in my newsletters.

The more I discover, the more I can offer to you and the bigger the difference I can make for you!   How much I have to give and how much of a difference I can make, the more I realize how fortunate I am.

I may not know all that you need to know, but I feel I currently have much to offer.

This newsletter is dedicated to making that difference and sharing information with you on such subjects as tax-law.

I am also featuring people I have worked with, people who care deeply and create true value.

This issue, Tax Law and Professionals You Can Trust, is intended to be a resource for you.

I would love to be sure these hints are helpful to you personally.

If you would like to learn more about anything, please let me know so that I can be an ongoing resource for you.

Time to talk taxes.

There are new things to learn when filing for 2016.

Here’s a tip -- 2017 will be the last year you will be allowed to deduct your medical expenses when they amount to 7.5% of your income for the year. In 2018 you will only qualify once you have spent 10% of your earnings on medical services.

Another tip -- Multiple changes in the tax law will have to be taken into consideration when you file for 2016. This website will help you update the process: http://www.usatoday.com/story/money/personalfinance/2015/12/07/10-biggest-income-tax-changes-plan-2016/76925536/

A new series debuts in this newsletter: Professional Referralsto fellow professionals.

Featured in this issue is an attorney, Paul Leavin, with whom I have worked for over twenty years:

Hi, I’m Paul Leavin. I’m an experienced and highly trusted matrimonial attorney.  As a solo practitioner, I handle each case personally from start to finish. Which means you won’t be relegated to some junior associate that happens at large firms.

My style is aggressive in the courtroom but skillfully diplomatic when dealing with a difficult judge. Keeping my focus on the results you want, not using your case to feed my ego or my wallet.

I am passionate about the law and knowing how to skillfully see clients through painful processes such as - Matters of custody, child-support, or the valuation of a business. My experience gives my clients the edge when dealing with a wide variety of complex situations.

The mantra I follow is - “forewarned is forearmed.”  Complex legal matters don’t have to be a disaster when you are forearmed with my legal expertise.

Paul Leavin

If you would like to learn more about any of these subjects or professionals, please let me know so that I can be an ongoing resource for you.

It has been a pleasure to share this newsletter with you.

I will always be available when you need my assistance.

So, if you have some nagging job you’ve been procrastinating over, as we all do, call/write now.

Warmest,

David

There's nothing like a juicy excuse

The holiday season approaches. So many tasks lie ahead that we risk getting in our own way.

A heavy schedule offers a host of excuses for not getting things done. It happens to me.

Here are some of the excuses I hear the most. (Ever come up with a good one of your own? If so, please let me know -- I’d love to add to my collection.)

Time - How often do you tell yourself that you don’t have

time to do something and then spend half the day on Facebook? The cold, hard truth is this: only when we’re lowered into the ground are we out of time.

Money - In order to spend money you have to believe you can make money. Henry Ford said, “Whether you think you can or you can’t you are right.” You just have to ask yourself whether you would rather be right or be happy. Can you really afford not to?

Fear of Success - It may sound ridiculous, but we are so comfortable with old familiar problems that we never get to discover the happiness that lies right around the corner. What is keeping you from taking action?

Instead of finding excuses we can find a way.

Some of you know what my services have done for you in the past.

Wishing you continued success.

Warmly,

David

September is a month for bold action

Did the project you started in the spring get pushed to the back burner over the summer? Are you still trying to awake from your summer slumber.

Now is the time for bold action before your lagging projects deplete vital personal energy and limit your financial growth.

“Boldness has genius, power, and magic in it” Goethe.

You don’t have to be wealthy to have a personal assistant. Peace of mind is just around the corner.

Here are the top reasons for taking action now.

1. No Regrets- Don’t let regret over what you didn’t do rob you of peace of mind.

2. It feels good to keep your word: Nothing feels worse than apologizing for missing a deadline. It’s fun to delegate tasks once you get used to it.

3. Energy creates more energy: Creative energy keeps you young and vigorous. The less busy-work you do the more time you have to do the things you love.

4. You’ll look forward to sharing your success with your friends at your next holiday party: Enough said.

5.You get an ace up your sleeve. A personal assistant has your back when you need support.

Don’t let excuses slow you down. You deserve it.

To your continued success!

Here’s what I’ve got for you but you’ve got to take the first step.

Being Prepared

Especially For You:

Hi,

I would like to share something with you that I learned many years ago from my parents, who were great teachers for me: that life is sometimes difficult to predict, but being prepared is powerful.

They told me that being free is all about having the power and the foresight to plan for the future.

Furthermore, when you think of it, the main idea is that you don’t have be scared as long as you are prepared and secure.

That’s the definition of true freedom. Have you achieved it for yourself?

Fortunately for you, I have done the research. Here are my three most important tips for being powerfully prepared for life’s uncertainties.

HEALTH CARE PROXY

No one wants to think about being sick or being a burden, or worse, being a burden to our loved ones. All the more reason to establish your health care proxy now.

A health care proxy is a document (legal instrument) with which you appoint an agent to legally make healthcare decisions on your behalf when you are incapable of making and executing your own healthcare decisions.

Here is a link of a health care proxy that I’ve used before.

LIVING WILL

Don’t let the name scare you. A Living Will is not about the end of life. Its about quality of life This is one of the best ways you can help your family to love you in the way you want to be loved.

A living will is a document that outlines specific medical instructions to be applied if you are alive but are unable to communicate your wishes for yourself. Unlike last wills, they have nothing to do with property division after your death.

Check out this link of a living will. It will walk you through the details.

POWER OF ATTORNEY

You’ve worked your whole life and you don’t want to lose everything you’ve worked for.

The Power of Attorney ensures that your financial and legal wishes are handled exactly the way you want. We’ve all heard horror stories of someone’s life savings being stolen by unscrupulous people close to them or being mismanaged. I’ve seen too many people who are not prepared, and I want to make sure you are not one of them.

A Power of Attorney gives the authority to act for another person in specified legal or financial matters.

New York State went to great lengths to ensure that your Power of Attorney is binding. These forms can be overwhelming, but fortunately you have me to help you with the details so that you are prepared.

Here is a link to a Power of Attorney

I’d be happy to support you in this process by offering  you my expertise and guidance. I have helped many people from all walks of life to execute one or more of these three instruments. Shoot me an e-mail and we’ll set up a time to discuss your needs.

Wishing you a happy fall, and as always, I am thrilled to be a resource for you.

To your enhanced prosperity and freedom.
